Jesse Marsch told what must improve for Leeds United to fly up Premier League table

It's not been a easy first half of the season for Jesse Marsch and Leeds United. With their 'main' striker Patrick Bamford constantly out with injuries, the American has had to mostly rely on Rodrigo and youngster Crysencio Summerville for their goals throughout the first 17 matches.

In fact, the Spaniard and the Dutchman have 14 league goals between them this season - that's 56% of the team's total goals. However, while eight of those goals have come against teams outside of the "big six" clubs (Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and Manchester City), only two have resulted in wins.

It's no secret that Marsch style of football is almost a perfect example of the 'We'll just outscore our opponents' mindset when you look at how close Leeds' games have been so far this season.

Eight of the 12 results from matches that they have either won or lost this season have been within one goal, which while entertaining for fans, can mean a huge lack of consistency - something Premier League teams must have if they want to survive, especially away from home.

Taking to social media, an account called TheOther14, which provides statistics for teams outside the "big six" clubs, posted a graphic which showed how poor the Whites have been away from home this season.

The stats show that against the other 14 teams, Leeds have picked up just two points out of a possible 18 in away fixtures while taking nine from a possible 18 from games taking place at Elland Road.

Even factoring in every away game they've played this season, the Whites have only managed to take five points from a possible 24, meaning there's a huge amount of potential points that could have drastically changed the face of their season.

Either way, whether up travelling to teams at the top of the league or the bottom, Marsch and co. must take their opportunities by beating the teams around them the most if they want to stay in the Premier League this season.
