Jesse Marsch told how 'versatile' Weston McKennie can bolster depth in unaddressed position

Leeds United and Jesse Marsch have been told how new loan signing Weston McKennie can help fill in at right-wing-back after his move from Juventus in the January transfer window.

While fans might believe that there are other positions, especially on the defensive line, that need addressing, McKennie could put in a shift away from his natural midfield role for the Whites according to USMNT legend Eric Wynalda.

With Rasmus Kristensen and Luke Ayling the main two right-backs available to Marsch with Stuart Dallas still occupying the injury table, it is possible that if one goes down injured, McKennie could slot back in after Cody Drameh's loan move to Luton Town.

Speaking to The Action Network's Wondergoal Podcast, Wynalda highlighted the 24-year-old versatility from his time in Italy and noted that he has all the necessary talents to get further up the pitch - something modern day right-backs are being asked to do much more often.

"Weston has been playing wing back recently for Juventus and he showed me something I didn’t know he had in his tool box.

"He can get down the line with speed and find team mates with a cross. The versatility of Weston McKennie might be another pitch point."
