Jesse Marsch outlines why Leeds United's Tyler Adams deserves credit for transformation

Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch insists the only person who deserves credit for Tyler Adams impressive performances lately is the midfielder himself.

Adams has produced a number of stellar showings for the USA out in Qatar at the World Cup, as well as impressing in the Premier League following his summer move from RB Leipzig.

Marsch is no stranger to Adams, with the pair having worked together plenty during their careers. The Leeds boss managed Adams both at New York Red Bulls and with RB Leipzig, meaning he knows the midfielder's game inside out.

The 23-year-old midfielder is full of energy, with his all action displays endearing him to Leeds supports just a few months after his arrival.

And speaking to Men in Blazers, Marsch revealed Adams' has fit in perfectly at Elland Road following his summer move.

"Tyler, for me, when he can play with confidence and intensity and display his athleticism and his intelligence combined, he can be elite," Marsch explained.

"And I knew that. I knew that before he came to Leeds and the key for me was just having these kind of conversations to unearth it more and get him on track and then allow him to be himself.

"So I don't want to take any credit for Tyler, I think he deserves all the credit. But the fit here at Leeds has been really good for him and us so I think it's just got him into a place where he's playing more confidence and belief then he ever has himself."
