Jesse Marsch has revealed that he has had to 'take a step back' to ensure that Adam Forshaw returns to action fully fit.
Forshaw has experienced another season which has seen him plagued by injuries. He started the campaign relatively well until Marsch revealed in October that Forshaw was suffering with a hernia issue that would require him to go under the knife.
He returned to the starting XI to face Manchester City, and then Newcastle United on New Year's Eve, but was subbed off at half-time against the latter.
Marsch confirmed that Forshaw was struggling with hip pain, and the Leeds boss has now issued an update, stating that the club are giving him the best possible chance of returning to top fitness.

"That wasn't a surgery, it was more of a procedure. He had like an injection to help fortify things. He's had a lot of visits to the doctor to try and identify exactly what's happening, and one of the things that everyone feels needs to be addressed is just strengthening the area," Marsch told reporters.
"Part of that makes sense because he's been out for a while, and so now making sure that we're putting him in a situation where it's not cyclical, that he's battling just getting back on the pitch.
"Instead, get him to a strong place where he can perform at his best. So that meant that we've taken a little bit of a step back and worked more on some of his strength and infrastructure, and mobility so that he can have a better chance of getting himself back to top fitness."
