Jesse Marsch makes three changes for Leeds United's clash against title-chasing Man City

Jesse Marsch has named his Leeds United starting lineup for this evening’s game against Manchester City, with three changes to the side that drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace on Monday. The Whites take on the title hopefuls hoping to claim an unlikely result that would hand them a boost in their battle against the drop.

Robin Koch has come in to replace Mateusz Klich in midfield, with the German set to partner Kalvin Phillips and offer more defensive stability. Diego Llorente has been benched for Pascal Struijk, while Junior Firpo has also come in at left-back, while Dan James drops out of the XI.

That should push Stuart Dallas into midfield alongside Koch and Phillips, with Rodrigo is likely to lead the line. Llorente and Klich join the likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood and Charlie Cresswell on a youthful but strong bench.

Leeds go into the game with back-to-back clean sheets and five games unbeaten, although the arrival of Pep Guardiola’s City poses a huge challenge. Unlikely as it may seem, a win today could take the Whites eight points clear of the drop depending on results elsewhere.

Manchester City have dropped into second-place after Liverpool’s earlier win at Newcastle, and need to win to return to the summit.

Leeds United starting-XI : Meslier; Ayling, Cooper, Struijk, Firpo; Phillips, Koch, Dallas; Raphinha, Rodrigo, Harrison

Subs : Klaesson, Llorente, Cresswell, Shackleton, Bate, Klich, Greenwood, Gelhardt, James
