Jesse Marsch Leeds United defence from booing issued amid 'knee-jerk reaction'

TalkSPORT pundit and former Premier League striker Tony Cascarino has defended Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch from booing fans after their 4-3 loss to Tottenham Hotspur yesterday.

An opening goal from Crysencio Summerville and a brace from Rodrigo were not enough to keep Spurs at bay despite Leeds leading three times during the match.

Harry Kane, Ben Davies and Rodrigo Bentancur found the net for Spurs as they took al three points and the Whites travelled back to Elland Road to prepare for the World Cup break.

Speaking on talkSPORT's Sunday Sports Breakfast show this morning, Cascarino was critical of fans who simply boo their manager because of high expectations, and used Marsch as an example.

"They're [Leeds] a good side and they're competing against teams that have a lot of money. In midweek, I did a piece about this - about how fans expectations and booing have become common place.

"We are so much more critical of our own teams now. I see it everywhere. You know, every game there are knee jerk reactions to how teams are playing."
