Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch will now have to wait until October 2 for the game against Aston Villa to serve his one-game touchline ban. Marsch was sent to the stands in Leeds’ 5-2 defeat at Brentford earlier this month, and as a result of that, could incur a one-match touchline ban - as is customary for a manager receiving a red card.
The 48-year-old was charged by the FA for his actions on the touchline against Brentford, breaching FA Rule E3 due to improper language and/or behaviour. Marsch had until Friday 9 September to respond, but given the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, confirmation has not yet been received on the outcome of his reply.
Had the suspension been confirmed, Marsch was due to serve his ban on Monday evening for Leeds’ scheduled clash with Nottingham Forest. The Premier League, though, opted to cancel the entire weekend of matches due to the aforementioned passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

And Leeds’ wait to return to action was prolonged even further this week. The Whites were due to make the trip to Manchester United on Sunday, but it is now one of three matches no longer going ahead.
Due to the increased police presence needed in London for the build up to The Queen’s funeral on Monday, the Greater Manchester Police felt it was the correct decision to postpone the fixture. The clash between the two sides at Elland Road was reportedly the most heavily policed fixture in the Premier League last season.
