Jesse Marsch has explained how his Leeds United side responded to Everton’s win over Chelsea last weekend.
The Blues claimed a huge three points at Goodison Park thanks to Richarlison’s second-half strike. The goal came as a result of a rare Cesar Azpilicueta mistake.
Everton’s win came less than 24 hours after Leeds were beaten 4-0 at home to Manchester City. While Burnley were also victorious before kick-off at Elland Road after coming from behind to beat Watford.

Frank Lampard’s side currently sit two points behind Leeds in the Premier League table, but they do have a game in hand on their relegation rivals. But despite the huge setback to their survival hopes, Marsch has claimed the reaction by his side to last weekend’s results has been phenomenal.
He said: “It’s normal after results, whether they’ve gone for or against us, to have emotions attached to what’s happening, but by the time we get to work and get on the pitch and start talking about what we want the weekend to look like, there’s clarity and not a lot of tension at that point.
“It’s normal for everyone to have emotional responses to different results that don’t go our way or do go our way, but again, the work and the focus, and the focus on the work here, has been phenomenal. It’s been a real strength of ours so far.”
Leeds face Arsenal at the Emirates at the same time as Everton travel to face Leicester City on Sunday afternoon. And Marsch has revealed his side could be without up to five players for the game in the capital.
He said: “Stuart Dallas has had a successful surgery and they believe the outcome was very positive. They’ve said it will be a long recovery but they believe he will have a full recovery.
"He has had 400 to 500 messages from fans, family and friends, we know he is loved, and this moment proves it more than anything. I don’t want to speak for Stuart, but I have heard he has been so appreciative of people reaching out and extending their concerns and their love towards him.
“Patrick Bamford has been on the [training] pitch, so we remain cautiously optimistic with that. Tyler Roberts, Adam Forshaw and Crysencio Summerville are moving in the right direction.
“Liam Cooper trained today, Diego Llorente trained today, so other than the four or five mentioned, we should have our full complement of players.”
