Jesse Marsch 'deserves another chance' after Leeds United sacking amid Southampton links

Interim United States Men's National Team boss Anthony Hudson says Jesse Marsch deserves another chance to crack the Premier League after he was sacked by Leeds United. The former Whites boss was relieved of his duties following defeat to Nottingham Forest last weekend, but has been linked with a move to Southampton who relived Nathan Jones of his duties last week.

Leeds have not won in the top flight since their win against Bournemouth way back in November, a run of nine games. In that time, they've picked up just three points from a possible 27 available to them.

It's a run of form that leaves them teetering on the brink of the relegation zone, but have games against fellow strugglers Everton and Southampton on the horizon.

When asked about American coaches finding it tough in the Premier League, Hudson said: "It's tough. In the end it comes down to results. Watching the Leeds team under Jesse, one thing is for sure they were exciting to watch.

"The players gave everything. In the end the results just weren't there and it goes for any manager really in terms of where you're from it's about results.

"Listen, I think there were a lot of positives with Jesse. I think even the game yesterday [the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United], you saw a team totally committed.

"They're a good team Leeds and you saw at the end they're struggling to finish chances. That was similar under Jesse, he did a lot of good things and if he gets another chance I think he deserves it."
