Former West Ham star Jesse Lingard is back training with the club amid uncertainty over his future.
Lingard, who is currently a free agent, trained at Rush Green on Monday as he continues to look for a new club having left Nottingham Forest at the end of last season.
The midfielder enjoyed a superb spell on loan at the London Stadium from Manchester United during the second half of the 2020/21 season, scoring nine times in 16 Premier League appearances to help the Hammers qualify for Europe.
West Ham were interested in making the switch permanent both during the subsequent transfer window and again 12 months ago, when Lingard departed Old Trafford at the end of his contract.
West Ham manager David Moyes was particularly keen on a reunion last summer but after delaying a decision over his next club, Lingard eventually turned the Irons down to join newly-promoted Forest on a lucrative one-year deal.
At this stage it is considered unlikely that Lingard will be offered another chance to return to the club, with his involvement in training seen as a gesture of goodwill that has been extended to other former players in the past.
