Jess Glynne has hinted that new music is on the way after returning to social media following a three year break.
The London-born singer, 32, took to Instagram to share her take on Beyonce’s Break My Soul.
Rather than a straight up cover however, she tweaked some of the lyrics giving fans an insight as to what she has been up to and teased “everything great takes time”.
“Made a few cutbacks, had a few setbacks, girl had to realign. Thought I would react but I’m back on track, everything great takes time,” she can be heard singing.
It was reported in January that the Hold My Hand hit-maker had parted ways with her record label following a series of disagreements about her future.
During her eight years with Atlantic, Glynne had seven UK number one singles — a record for a British female.
Her 2015 debut I Cry When I Laugh topped the charts and went four times platinum. Her Follow-up Always In Between also topped the charts in 2018.
Glynne’s most recent hit was festive single This Christmas, which reached number three in 2020.
An insider claimed that the ten-time BRIT Award winner wanted to reinvent herself and move away from radio-friendly songs, while label bosses wanted her to keep producing mainstream pop.
“There were a series of discussions and everyone was on a different page,” the source told The Sun.
“Jess felt she had earned the right to control the direction of her music.
“It came down to Jess wanting to produce music that resonates with her over churning out radio-friendly hits. She is keen to reset her career and almost start again after taking time out.”
