Jerry Seinfeld Is a Subie Bro

Jerry Seinfeld is well-known for his Porsche love. He's probably got the finest collection of Porsches outside the company's own museum in Stuttgart, but he's into other cars as well. To our surprise, the comedian is a Subaru fan, too.

Seinfeld appeared on the 999th episode of The Smoking Tire podcast and he reveals he's had at least two Subarus, a WRX STI Type RA, and currently, an S209. These are rare, special models, the most limited Subaru has ever brought to the States.

"I like their attitude," Seinfeld said. He lamented that cars don't reflect their national character as much as they used to, but Subaru bucks this. Cars like the S209 feel distinctly Japanese. It's a car he likes so much, he had seller's remorse, and just bought it back. The Smoking Tire's Matt Farah and Zack Klapman bring up the Impreza WRX STI 22B and Prodrive's P25 resto-mod as future Seinfeld purchases, something the comedian seems open to.

Perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that Seinfeld is so into special Subarus. There's a connection between Subaru and Porsche, with both being the only automakers to still use Boxer engines. Each also has rally history. Also, they're just cool cars, and Seinfeld seems to be into all sorts of cool cars.

The whole podcast is worth a listen. A special guest, for a momentous occasion. And afterwards, you can watch Colin McRae videos. At least, I will.
