Jerry Hall has walked away from her marriage to Rupert Murdoch with £72million and two mansions, it was claimed.
The US model, 66, was apparently “aggressive” when it came to serving divorce papers after she learned the media baron, 91, was leaving her.
Although both parties remain tight-lipped about the deal, insiders say a “clean break” settlement had been met with cash and two properties given to Ms Hall.
One of the homes the Texan is understood to have been awarded is £11.25million Holmwood House near Henley-on-Thames, Oxon.
Ms Hall – the former partner of Rolling Stone Mick Jagger – is also believed to have the keys to a house in France bought around four years ago. It is where she is believed to be holed up now.
Billionaire Mr Murdoch also reportedly covered Ms Hall’s legal costs.
The deal ended the couple’s six-year union. They married in London in March 2016.
A source said Murdoch, worth £14.5bn, was left shook up after being “hijacked” at RAF Brize Norton, Oxon, before he boarded the plane following his granddaughter Charlotte’s wedding.
Insiders claim he feared Ms Hall would refuse to go quietly – which was reinforced when she filed divorce papers in California and not the UK, where they lived.
The source said: “After being blindsided by Rupert’s decision to divorce, Jerry was left devastated.
“She never saw it coming. Her friends quickly rallied around but the more pragmatic among them made her believe she needed to be aggressive in terms of a settlement.
“The last place Rupert’s advisers wanted this played out was in a public court.”
The couple’s break-up was made public in June.
On Wednesday, the first signs emerged that a speedy deal had been agreed as Ms Hall’s lawyers moved to dismiss the divorce she filed in LA.
Behind the scenes, it is thought legal teams were thrashing out a deal amid claims Mr Murdoch was “eager” to have the matter resolved quickly.
The source added: “Jerry can be formidable at times. Just ask Mick Jagger. Once she realised there was no chance of reconciliation, the gloves came off and she took the battle to Rupert.”
The couple first revealed they were an item in 2015 and Mr Murdoch marked their marriage by quitting Twitter and calling himself “the luckiest and happiest man in the world”.
Ms Hall has four children with Rolling Stones legend Mr Jagger. They were together for 22 years but never married. Mr Murdoch has six children with previous wives Patricia Booker, Anna Mann and Wendi Deng.
