New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo had a brutally honest reaction to the Patriots’ 32-16 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
The Patriots were beaten in every aspect of the football game. The Jaguars accumulated 364 yards on 59 total plays and averaged 6.2 yards per play. New England accumulated 38 rushing yards in comparison to 171 yards on the ground from the Jaguars.
They also gave up a special teams touchdown on the day, as Parker Washington returned a 96-yard punt into the end zone. Overall, it was an ugly performance for a team that is still trying to find its footing during a rebuild.
“We are a soft football team across the board,” Mayo bluntly admitted after the game.

New England has begun a downward slide, losing their last six games after winning the season-opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. If anything, these are real-time growing pains for the rebuilding Patriots.
