Jeremy Kyle Show guest celebrates sobriety after kicking 20-year addiction

A former Jeremy Kyle Show guest is celebrating sobriety after kicking her 20 year addiction. Michelle Wallace first appeared on the ITV show back in 2018 seeking help to beat her heroin addiction.

The former prositute appeared on the section titled: "My prostitute sister blames our dad for her 20-year addiction". She was recommended for the show by her daughter who wanted to help her mum beat her addiction.

While on the show, Michelle looked incredibly thin, with sunken cheeks and her collar bones jutting out. However, after getting clean, the mother now looks happier and healthier, reports the Mirror.

She updated her followers on social media of her progress, and uploaded an image of herself smiling at the camera. Michelle took to TikTok to share the image which also included a cake which was piped with icing that read: "4 years congratulations".

This was to celebrate her being sober for four years from drugs. Michelle wrote on the post: "Celebrating my four years clean off out tomorrow for a meeting then a meal."

Her turnaround in fortunes had people delighted for the former addict, with many quick to praise her determination. One person replied to her video: "Well done Michelle proud of ya girl here’s to the next 4 yrs",

Meanwhile, another user wrote: "You go girl!! Your living life how you want to & that’s a credit to you, be so proud of you as we all are."

This was not Michelle's only update however as she did return back on Jeremy Kyle in 2019, a year after her initial appearance, to document her progress. She praised the talk show for helping her to beat her addiction, with Graham Stanier, the show's psychologist, posting a statement from Wallace about the care she received from the show.

The statement read: "This time three years ago was when the Jeremy Kyle team came to my flat in Walsall to do a recording of me in my flat. I was so frightened, I didn’t know what to expect.

"I had hit rock bottom, my flat windows were smashed through, it also looked like a crack den. My drug use was so out of control I had given up on life, I just wanted to die.

"I didn’t want to live anymore, I couldn’t live the life anymore, so I’m so blessed that my beautiful princess emailed the show as she knew her mum was in there somewhere."
