Jeremy Kyle's security guard Big Steve has bagged himself a new job.
The security guard became a television personality in his own right after appearing on the ITV morning show. The programme was axed back in 2019, with fans fearful of what might happen to the bodyguard once the show ended.
At the time, panicked fans rushed to social media to send their best wishes to Steve, who was there to ensure no guests got into any physical bust ups as they were given lie detector results and confronted their friends and family face to face over lies, infidelity claims and much more. Big Steve became a fan favourite on the show and regularly interacted with Jeremy and the guests.
Since the show ended in 2019, Steve has had multiple jobs and has been spotted alongside the likes of Judge Rinder and whilst Steve doesn't use social media himself, The Jeremy Kyle Show's counsellor Graham Stanier has posted multiple snaps with him.
Now, Steve is said to be working on BBC show, Ru Paul's Drag Race - fronted by the iconic RuPaul Andre Charles - where his job is to make sure filming goes smoothly and ensure everyone is safe on set.
"Steve has been on hand to help make sure filming is going smoothly and everyone is super safe," a source told The Sun.
"He’s the best in the business and has had plenty of work since leaving Jeremy Kyle."
Meanwhile, since the show, Jeremy Kyle has gone on to do his own radio and TV shows. He generally presents his own show on TalkRadio, joining in September 2021 as host of the Drivetime show. He is also set to host a new primetime show on TalkTV, which will have a review of the day's news, and will begin in the Autumn.
He also recently stepped in to cover Piers Morgan's Uncensored show on the same channel over August.
"It is an honour and a privilege to take the helm on Uncensored while Piers is away. He is the pre-eminent broadcaster of his generation. At least that’s what he told me to say," Jeremy said at the time.
"I’m looking forward to keeping his audiences in the UK, US, Australia and beyond informed, entertained and engaged with the best guests, the most challenging interviews and plenty of fun."
Whilst speaking about his replacement, Piers joked about his replacement's presenting prowess, adding: "I can imagine no finer broadcaster to keep my seat warm. Well, I can, but they weren’t available. I’m sure he’ll do his best."
