Jeremy Clarkson has dropped a major hint his apology to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wasn't entirely genuine.
The former Top Gear presenter, 62, has liked a cryptic tweet from a fan slamming him for 'caving into the woke' and taking accountability for his accounts, after apologising to the Duchess of Sussex regarding his vile rant about her last month.
The tweet liked by Clarkson's verified account this morning reads: "Oh @JeremyClarkson you caved into the woke by apologizing and Amazon are still going to cancel you anyway.
"Was it worth it? Never explain, never apologize.
"You've lost my respect."
Clarkson liking the tweet comes just one day on from The Grand Tour presenter revealing he sent an email to Prince Harry on Christmas Day to apologise for his comments about the Duchess of Sussex.
His lengthy statement on Instagram came as it was reported Amazon have parted ways with Clarkson and won’t be working with the controversial star beyond seasons of The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm that have already been commissioned.
The streaming platform will reportedly go ahead with already-commissioned series of The Grand Tour and Clarkson's Farm, but reportedly have no plans to work with the controversial star after 2024.
In his statement shared to his Instagram account on Monday, Clarkson said he "really is sorry" for what he said in the controversial column - all the way "from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head".
He went on to say his bosses at ITV show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and and Amazon, who make the Farm Show and the Grand Tour, were "incandescent" after his decision to share his disturbing thoughts with the public.
Meghan and Harry issued a response on Monday night to Clarkson's claims he emailed both of them on Christmas Day - saying TV presenter only addressed his apology to Harry.
A joint statement issued on behalf of the couple reads: "On December 25, 2022, Mr. Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex.
"While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. Clarkson, what remained to be addressed is his long standing pattern of writing articles that spread ate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny."
It adds: "Unless each of his other pieces were also written "in a hurry", as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate."
The former Top Gear presenter, 62, wrote in The Sun last month how he hates the former Suits actress "on a cellular level" and wants her to be "paraded naked through the streets".
Clarkson explained in his now-deleted newspaper column how he "dreams of people throwing lumps of excrement at her" in the insensitive spew of hatred towards Meghan – who he has never met.
The presenter initially addressed huge backlash to his column - including MPs calling for ITV to sack the TV star - on Twitter on December 19 and told his followers: "Oh dear. I’ve rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made a clumsy reference to a scene in Game of Thrones and this has gone down badly with a great many people.
"I’m horrified to have caused so much hurt and I shall be more careful in future."
Following his second attempt at a public apology on Monday, Variety reported sources telling them Clarkson won’t be appearing in any new shows on Prime Video beyond 2024.
They claim the streaming service won’t be working with the former Top Gear host beyond seasons of The Grand Tour and Clarkson’s Farm that have already been commissioned.
A scheduled press conference to promote the second series of Clarkson's Farm was then cancelled at the last-minute later the same evening.
However, the series is still set to launch on Friday February 10.
