James May says Jeremy Clarkson is an 'a**e' - and so is his other co-star Richard Hammond.
But the 60-year-old says he's not entirely sure what the future holds for The Grand Tour and says he is told very little.
The much-loved trio worked with one another on BBC's Top Gear until 2015.
After Jeremy was suspended from the series over verbal and physical abuse claims, both Richard and James announced they would under no circumstances be continuing on Top Gear without him.
One year later, they were back together again after they signed a deal with Amazon and they've been a huge hit.
But James knows the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire presenter, 63, can be a pain in the you-know-where.
“Jeremy is an a**e. So is Hammond, in a different sort of way, but the argumentative, mucking about, three’s-a-crowd, conforming-to-every-stereotype dynamic makes for great telly," he told The Telegraph.
"Is The Grand Tour a car show? It’s not the show to go for if you want to buy a new estate for the school run - I see it more as a confluence of sitcom and Greek tragedy."
“We’re signed up for a certain number of specials, and we’re doing those,” he added “I honestly don’t know what will happen beyond that, because nobody tells me. It’s not like scheduling on terrestrial TV."
Last month, TV star Jeremy delighted his fans by sharing a sneak peak of the filming as he posted a sweet snap of himself, Richard, and James all beaming from ear-to-ear while catching some sun on the boat.
Alongside the wholesome photo, Jeremy joked they were 'three t***s in a boat' as he shared a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes action from the upcoming Amazon Prime series.
Filming for the new episodes is thought to have kickstarted earlier this month, with Jeremy sharing some insight into the new series on his Twitter account.
At the beginning of the month, Jeremy revealed that he had been reunited with James and Richard, and that the pair were back to their old ways of mocking one another as they poked fun at his pals in the tweet.
At the time, he posted: "Conversation from this morning. Me: 'Have you seen who’s dead?' James May: 'no. Who?' Me. 'I can’t remember his name'. The old peoples’ home beckons."
