RTE star Jennifer Zamparelli has said she believes Dancing With The Stars will return next year.
Doubts had been raised by RTE bosses if the glitzy entertainment show would be commissioned for another series – with Jen even joking she would set up a Go Fund Me to help finance the next series.
But Dublin Jen admitted she is quietly confident the show will return to our screens in January.
She said: “I think it is. I think we’re in a good position.
“I’ve been told, you know.. it’s positive.”
Jennifer was speaking alongside pal Lottie Ryan where the pair attended Friday night’s Platinum VIP Style Awards in Dublin.
The pals were celebrating after their parenting podcast reached Number 1 on the podcast charts just hours after it was first released.
Speaking about the reasons why the podcast is a success, Lottie said: “It makes people feel like they are not the only ones winging it. I think sometimes you can feel a little bit low.
"It’s very isolating, especially when things go wrong. Especially on Instagram, I see a huge amount of people sitting in a field with their hair and clothing – that is just not what it was for me, so I think it is really good to try and open up and let people know that there’s loads of us out there.”
Jennifer added: “I think when we were so honest about our experiences and Lottie talked about her problems in pregnancy and then when we were getting all these comments from women saying I had that.
“There is an untapped community out there from a lot of women who feel like they are not being heard or they’re going through stuff that no one is talking about, and we were like talking about things that aren’t cool to talk about or maybe might be a bit embarrassing. We’re all just doing their best.”
Jennifer and Lottie also opened up about Patrick Kielty being named host of the Late Late Show – with Lottie admitting she doesn’t envy him but she really did want to see a woman presenting the gig.
“I don’t envy the task ahead of him. It’s a huge undertaking for anyone.”
Lottie reacted to reports that Kielty might be too out of touch with Irish society as he lives in London and will endure a weekly commute to the station.
She said: “This is part of the reason Ryan said he wanted to leave because he felt too much like public property. Unfortunately, it is what comes along with the gig and I’m sure Patrick is well used to it.”
“I would’ve loved to have seen a female do it but obviously the right person should get the job for the right reasons, but it would be incredible to see a female hosting the biggest show in Irish television. Obviously, yeah.”
