Jennifer Lopez has revealed the poignant message Ben Affleck had engraved on her second engagement ring.
The couple, who tied the knot in August, got engaged earlier this year after calling off their original engagement in 2004 and going their separate ways before reuniting in 2021.
When the actor asked Lopez for her hand in marriage a second time around, he included the engraved assurance: “Not. Going. Anywhere.”
Explaining the importance behind these words, the Jenny From The Block hit-maker told Apple Music One’s Zane Lowe: “That’s how he would sign his emails when we started talking again,’ Lopez said. ‘Like, ‘Don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere.’”
Opening up about finding each other again, she added: “Now, we know and there’s no questions. It’s me and you, all the way, ‘til the end.”
The relatiolnship has also influenced some of the songs on her new album This Is Me... Now, which includes a track called “Not. Going. Anywhere.”
Reflecting on their split almost two decades ago, she described it as “the biggest heartbreak” of her life.
She said: “It was the biggest heartbreak of my life and I honestly though I was gonna die,’ Lopez said. ‘It sent me on a spiral for the next 18 years where I just couldn’t get it right. But now, 20 years later, it does have a happy ending.
“You can get a second chance if you do the work and you don’t give up. As an artist, the only reason I’m here is to share what I know, what I’ve learned and what I go through.”
