Jennifer Lopez introduces her child Emme, 14, to the stage using gender-neutral pronouns

Jennifer Lopez introduced her 14-year-old child Emme to the stage using gender-neutral pronouns at the LA Dodgers Foundation Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday.

The singer, 52, was lauded by fans as she called the teen "my favourite duet partner" and ahead of their song referred to Emme, who she shares with ex-husband Marc Anthony, using the gender-neutral pronoun 'they'.

J-Lo said: "The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t. So this is a very special occasion.

"They are very, very busy, booked and pricey. They cost me when they come out. But they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favourite duet partner of all time. So if you will indulge me."

Jennifer and Emme wowed the crowd as they performed Christina Perri's A Thousand Years, with the teen using a rainbow coloured microphone and rocking a hot pink outfit.

J-Lo, meanwhile, looked every inch of her superstar status in a green feathered coat and matching trousers.

The songstress teased a peek of her famous abs in a crop top which coordinated with her turquoise look.

Fans soon to social media after the moving performance.

One wrote: "Awww JLo respecting the pronouns", while a different follower chimed: "The best parents love and support their kids - go JLO and Emme!"

"This was J-Lo sharing that information. It’s beautiful to see her supporting her child," said another.

J-Lo is proud mum-of-two to Emme and Emme's twin Maximilian David Muñiz.

The last time the singer performed with the teen was at the Superbowl Halftime Show in 2020.

The Blue Diamond Gala on Thursday was held to raise funds for education, health care and homelessness.

It comes as the singer's show Halftime, which hit screens on Netflix on Tuesday (June 14), will explore the star's personal life including her relationship with Max and Emme.

The title is said to be a nod towards Jen's ascension into middle age, as well as the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show, at which she performed with Shakira.
