"We did it."
With those three little words, entertainer Jennifer Lopez announced to the world that she had married the love of her life, actor Ben Affleck.
The two wed in Las Vegas, 20 years after they first were engaged in November 2002. They called off that engagement in January 2004.
However, they're not the only high-profile couple to reunite.
Here's how their relationship has evolved, and some other famous couples who've either rekindled their relationships or married twice.
Bennifer
When writing to her fans to announce she had wed Affleck (49), Lopez (52) signed off with the words: "Mrs Jennifer Lynn Affleck".
"Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world," she wrote in her On the JLo newsletter.
"Behind us, two men held hands and held each other.
"In front of us, a young couple who made the three-hour drive from Victorville on their daughter's second birthday — all of us wanting the same thing — for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage."
This is Lopez's fourth marriage. She shares 14-year-old twins with singer Marc Anthony who she was married to for a decade from 2004.
Affleck has three children with his ex-wife, actor Jennifer Garner, who he married in 2005.
Their marriage lasted till they divorced in 2018.
"Bennifer", as they're fondly known, dated in the 2000s and, although they were engaged, this is the first time they have wed.
They had starred together in 2003's Gigli and 2004's Jersey Girl.
Sophia Loren and Carlo Ponti
Under the tutelage of producer and former husband, Carlo Ponti, Italian actress Sofia Villani Scicolone would transform into Sophia Loren.
They married in Mexico by proxy in 1957, but that marriage was declared illegal in Italy, which had not acknowledged Ponti's divorce from his first wife.
Ponti and Loren were haunted for many years by the resulting scandal and subsequent bigamy charges.
The couple annulled their marriage and lived in exile.
They settled in France, where Ponti legally divorced his first wife.
Loren and Ponti remarried in Paris in 1966.
Ponti died in 2007.
Liz Taylor and Richard Burton
Elizabeth Taylor was on the set of the 1963 movie Cleopatra when she met and fell in love with British actor Richard Burton.
Problem was, both were married to other people.
Hounded by photographers, their affair became a scandal.
From the Vatican newspaper to the US House of Representatives, the backlash was swift, with the couple denounced as immoral in both forums, and many others.
The two divorced their respective spouses.
They married each other twice — from 1964 to 1974 and again from 1975 to 1976.
