Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially engaged – again.
The 52-year-old singer and actress and the 49-year-old occasional Batman actor are set to finally walk down the aisle as they have confirmed they are engaged again.
The duo originally dated in 2002 and became engaged in 2003 – but ultimately split in 2004 in the face of increasingly intrusive and pressurised press attention.
But now JLo and Ben will finally become husband and wife after the American actor got down on bended knee to ask the chart topping beauty for her hand in marriage.
JLo herself announced the engagement in a short video via her fan newsletter, On The JLo.
In a video clip, the star is seen staring adoringly at an impressive green-diamond ring and declaring: “You’re perfect."
Curiously, the video itself doesn't include Ben – but Jen looks utterly overwhelmed by the new rock that she got.
She proudly shows off the sparkling ring in the video – with the mum-of-two visibly emotional and fighting back tears of joy.
Teasing the video, Jennifer pitched it as a "Major announcement!" while footage showed her beaming and declaring: "So I have a really, um… exciting and special story to share."
Rumours had already been swirling that the A-List couple had become engaged after Jenny was spotted out and about with a huge ring on her wedding finger.
Suspicions arose when the star was spotted shopping in LA with 14-year-old daughter Emme on Thursday.
While sources close to the star had told PageSix they: "wouldn’t be shocked if [Ben] had proposed again."
Ben and Jen first got together in 2002 but split two years later after a high profile romance that generated headlines around the world and created the portmanteau 'Bennifer' to describe them together.
Jen went on to date and ultimately marry the singer Marc Anthony with whom she welcomed twins Emme and Maximilian – now aged 14.
JLo and 53-year-old Marc split in 2014 – and she went on to enjoy a high-profile romance with baseball icon Alex Rodriguez, 46, from 2017.
The couple became engaged in March 2019 – but they never made it down the aisle as they broke up and the romance ended in April 2021.
Ben went on to marry actress Jennifer Garner, 49, in 2005 and together they welcomed daughter Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13, and a 10-year-old son named Samuel.
Ben and Jennifer Garner broke up and had their divorce finalised in 2018.
He went on to date the actress Ana de Armas, whom he met on the set of Deep Water, from 2020 until early 2021.
But Ben and JLo recoupled in April last year as they both found themselves single – and now it appears the romance is set to last forever once they finally swap vows.
