Jennifer Hudson looked visibly upset after getting smashed in the face with a basketball at a Knicks game.
The Dreamgirls star, 43, was watching the New York Knicks play the Golden State Warriors during a date night with her boyfriend Common on Tuesday.
Sitting courtside, the EGOT winner was hit in the face when Knicks player Miles McBridge lost control of a ball that was passed to him.
Hudson, whose glasses were knocked off her face, looked shaken as Common, 52, put his arm around her and checked to see she was okay.
McBride, 24, also ran over to see if the Respect star to apologise and make sure she was alright as one of the TNT commentators declared: “Protect Jennifer Hudson!”
A second commentator added: “Oh no, not the glasses! Those look real expensive, too.”
They then showed a replay of the accident, which captured Common - real name Lonnie Rashid Lynn - extending his arms to try to ward the ball away from Hudson.
“Common is making sure everybody’s okay,” the first commentator said.
Fans shared their concern over Hudson on X, with one writing, “Jennifer was about to cry [sad face emoji] as another added: “That baby life flashed before her eyes.”
A third teased: “Common could have at least done a better job protecting his gal.”
Hudson and Common have been friends for years and sparked romance rumours in 2022 while working on the film Breathe.

They confirmed their romance when he appeared on The Jennifer Hudson Show in early 2024.
Last summer, he said on The Breakfast Club: “If I'm going to get married, it's to her.”
Hudson teased her boyfriend about his comments when he appeared on her talk show afterwards, saying: “I heard you've been even out there talking about marriage. What's that about? I just happened to notice that.'”
The rapper responded: “You know what, you told me a quote that your mother said, ‘A man knows what he wants.’ I was saying my true feelings about, listen, Jennifer is the person.
“If I should be married, it will be to Jennifer Kate Hudson. I was just being honest.”
