In a recent sentencing memorandum for Jennifer Crumbley, prosecutors highlighted her statements during the trial where she expressed that she wouldn't have done anything differently. However, in her pre-sentence report, she acknowledged that her perspective has changed with the benefit of hindsight.
According to the report, Jennifer stated, 'With the information I have now, of course my answer would be hugely different. There are so many things that I would change if I could go back in time.' She further mentioned her disbelief at her son's actions, describing him as a quiet, kind individual who loved his pets, never imagining he would harm others.
Jennifer has requested to serve her sentence under house arrest at her defense attorney's home. She emphasized the challenging conditions of her incarceration, being locked down for 23 hours a day for over 26 months. She expressed hope that the court would consider allowing her release for the remainder of her sentence, proposing an Oakland County address for house arrest with a tether.
Both Jennifer and James Crumbley have been in custody since their arrest in December 2021 at a Detroit warehouse following a manhunt after the tragic school shooting incident.
