Jennie Kim's 'One Of The Girls' Climbs Billboard Charts

Jennie Kim achieves success with 'One of the Girls' collaboration.

Blackpink singer Jennie Kim recently achieved a significant milestone in her solo career with the success of her collaboration on the song “One of the Girls” with The Weeknd and Lily Rose Depp. The track, originally written and recorded for the TV show The Idol, has been making waves on the music charts.

This week, “One of the Girls” climbed to No. 18 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, marking a new peak position for the hit. This achievement places Jennie in esteemed company, as she now shares the third-highest-rising hit by any South Korean musical act in the history of the chart.

Jennie's success on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart puts her on par with Jimin, a member of the popular K-pop group BTS. Jimin made his mark on the chart last year with the single “Angel Pt. 1” from the soundtrack of a Fast and the Furious film, which also peaked at No. 18.

The highest-charting hit by a South Korean artist on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart remains “Girl of My Dreams” by Juice WRLD and Suga, another member of BTS. This collaboration reached No. 3 on the chart, making it the only top 10 hit by a South Korean artist in the ranking’s history.

Not far behind is “On the Street” by J-Hope, another BTS member, featuring J. Cole. The track peaked at No. 14 in early 2023, showcasing the success of South Korean artists in the R&B/Hip-Hop genre.

With “One of the Girls” continuing its upward trajectory on the charts, there is anticipation that the song will surpass its current tie with Jimin's hit and further solidify Jennie's position in the music industry. The track's consistent climb in recent weeks suggests that it is poised for further success in the near future.
