Jelle Klaasen into PDC Darts Home Tour semi-finals after easing past Peter Wright

Jelle Klaasen thrashed Peter Wright to become the first man to secure his place in the semi-finals of the PDC Home Tour.

Klaasen needed a 6-3 victory or better to progress against the defending world champion, having won just once in their last 14 clashes.

The Dutchman stormed into a 5-0 lead however and although Wright got on the board in the sixth leg and threatened to break in the next, Klaasen sealed a dominant win.

Elsewhere, Cristo Reyes missed six match darts as Wright somehow salvaged victory in a final-leg decider.

The Spaniard broke in the ninth leg to go 5-4 up and had the throw of the darts to secure his second group win.

But the world champion broke back immediately and, despite sloppy darts in the 11th leg, Wright rode his luck to put himself in pole position to reach the last eight.
