When the New York Jets visit the Pittsburgh Steelers for a “Sunday Night Football” matchup in Week 7, Davante Adams will be suiting up.
Following the completion of the trade between the Jets and Las Vegas Raiders to get Adams in New York, head coach Jeff Ulbrich noted it is expected that Adams will not need more than a week to get ready to play. He’s good to go now.
“It’s a challenge for Todd Downing and the offensive staff and getting him up to speed as fast as possible,” Ulbrich said. “Fortunately, there is a lot of familiarity with the offense. It’s been a system he’s been a part of for years.”
What’s probably helping is the fresh scenery for Adams, too.
“It was time for a change. This whole things transpired a bit weird but, at the end of the day, we’re in a better place,” Adams said this week.
Prior to being traded, the 31-year-old was not practicing much or playing for the Raiders. He has seemingly cleared from his hamstring injury pretty quickly after moving too.
