Jeff Stelling has labelled Rangers' win over Celtic as a consolation prize - even if he feels it's perhaps a shock result.
The legendary Sky Sports host was anchoring his Soccer Saturday show when Fashion Sakala scored the final goal in a 3-0 success for Michael Beale's side over Ange Postecoglou's side, with Todd Cantwell and John Souttar putting them ahead in the first half. With the League Cup and Premiership trophy already safely secured at Parkhead - a Scottish Cup final spot booked with a Celtic win over Rangers in the last four - this game was labelled somewhat of a dead rubber.
But the Light Blues wanted bragging rights and claimed them on the day, although Stelling was quick to shoot down their importance. He said: "One side is utterly dominant as well in the Old Firm clash in the Scottish Premiership and not the side you would anticipate because there’s been a third goal for Rangers.
“They have indeed (turned up) they lead by three goals to nil but it’s just a consolation. Of course, Celtic are already the Champions.”
