The Arizona Cardinals will retain one of their coordinators from last season. According to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, special teams coordinator and assistant head coach Jeff Rodgers will remain on staff with new head coach Jonathan Gannon.
Rodgers will be working with his third different head coach with the Cardinals. He was originally hired when Steve Wilks was head coach in 2018 and retained by Kliff Kingsbury, adding the title of assistant head coach in 2019.
This will be Rodgers’ sixth season with the team.
Rodgers has been coaching since 2000 and started in the NFL in 2003. He has been a special teams coordinator in the NFL since 2010, holding that job for the Panthers, Broncos, Bears and now Cardinals.
Thus far, he is the only coach from Kingsbury’s staff that we know is returning under Gannon.
