Lions cornerback Jeff Okudah appears to be making yet another jersey number change. Okudah posted what seems to be an announcement of a new jersey number on his social media.
Okudah’s Instagram story featured a picture of himself in a No. 1 Detroit Lions jersey. He also had a simple slide showing “#1”.
If he is indeed changing his number, it will be the third in as many seasons. Okudah wore No. 30 as a rookie in 2020. He changed that to No. 23 for the 2021 season.
The first two seasons of Okudah’s career have not gone as well as hoped for either the player himself or the Lions. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NFL draft, Okudah has struggled through injuries and played in just 10 games. He tore his Achilles in the first half of Week 1 a year ago.
