Jeff Lynne's ELO has announced their final tour, named 'The Over and Out Tour,' which will consist of 27 dates across North America. The tour, produced by Live Nation, is set to commence in Palm Desert, CA on August 24 and will culminate in Los Angeles on October 25. Artist Presale is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, March 20 at 10 am local time, with the general onsale starting on Friday, March 22 at 10 am local time. Exclusive VIP experiences will also be available starting March 20th at 10 am local time.
While no international dates have been confirmed yet, it is anticipated that the group will extend their tour to Europe and potentially other regions following the North American leg. The band's previous tour in 2018 received high praise, with Variety describing it as a return of a brilliant catalog to U.S. stages, offering fans a taste of the iconic ELO sound.
ELO, originally known as the Electric Light Orchestra, was founded in 1972 by Jeff Lynne, Roy Wood, and Bev Bevan, with the aim of blending rock music with classical instruments. After Wood's departure, Lynne took over as the group's leader, contributing as lead singer, songwriter, producer, and guitarist. Throughout the '70s, ELO produced chart-topping hits such as 'Evil Woman,' 'Mr. Blue Sky,' and 'Don't Bring Me Down.'
Following the band's disbandment in 1986, Lynne pursued a successful solo career and collaborated with music legends like George Harrison, Tom Petty, and Paul McCartney. He also co-founded the Traveling Wilburys, a supergroup featuring Harrison, Petty, Roy Orbison, and Bob Dylan. Lynne revived the ELO brand in 2001 and again in 2014, releasing albums and embarking on tours with the group.
The upcoming tour will kick off in Palm Desert and make its way through major cities such as New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles, offering fans a chance to experience ELO's timeless music live on stage. With a rich musical legacy and a dedicated fan base, Jeff Lynne's ELO's final tour promises to be a memorable celebration of their iconic sound.
