Jeff Brazier's ex wife Kate dropped a clue months ago that she had split from the TV star.
On Monday, The father-of-two, 43, announced his and Kate's nine year relationship "ended earlier in the year", and he felt lonely amid a challenging year.
In July, Kate, 32, hinted that all was not well between herself and Jeff when she described her dog as her "greatest blessing."
Sharing a short black and white clip of the adorable pet, Kate wrote on Instagram: "And just like that, she turns NINE tomorrow. Being her mum is my greatest blessing. She’s taught me that unconditional love absolutely exists.
"She’s taught me that it’s the simple things that matter. Most importantly, as she enters her senior years [broken heart emoji], she is teaching me that life is so short, and that it is to be LIVED.
"I don’t believe in God, but boy am I praying for many many many more years of her snorting by my side [white heart emoji]."
One eagle eyed follower asked: "What about Jeff and the boys aren’t they your greatest blessing?"
Kate, a PR boss, has not posted a photo of Jeff on her Instagram account since August 2021, and Jeff has not shared one for more than five months.
Jeff, who shared two sons with the late reality star Jade Goody, tied the knot with Kate in 2018 with his boys taking on best men roles for the happy day.
However, in news which came as a shock to his fans, Jeff revealed the couple had decided to go their separate ways after a "challenging" year.
Taking to Instagram, he said: "A moment to practice what I preach and start the new week with honesty.
"One for the smilers and eternally positive individuals who don’t often afford themselves the right to share their own vulnerabilities.
"I have so much to be grateful for and I appreciate facing the lessons I need to grow but this year has been challenging to say the least.
"My 9 year relationship ended earlier in the year and I've been working through that on top of supporting someone close to me who is going through something difficult."
Jeff explained that he and his sons have moved and he spends most of his time alone, adding he's "never felt loneliness like it".
After fans flocked to support him, Jeff uploaded a video today, thanking them and saying: "I just wanted to say a big thank you to everybody that to my post yesterday. Since I sent it, I felt a little bit embarrassed, like I'd made a fuss.
"It's funny how things that we've been conditioned to feel all our lives sort of really follow you around.
"That must be changing for me otherwise I wouldn't have put it out there. I am proud to have shared something that was difficult. I'm glad that lots of other people have sort of been able to identity with it."
