Jed Wallace to Nottingham Forest transfer 'not progressing' amid fresh Millwall claims

Nottingham Forest's hopes of signing Jed Wallace from Millwall have hit a setback after it was claimed a deal to sign the winger is "not progressing".

Guardian journalist Will Unwin claims the Reds' Championship rivals have no interest in selling their prized asset to another club in the same division.

That is despite the winger being out of contract in the summer, meaning he will be free to leave the club for nothing.

Many had believed that would tempt Millwall into a sale in order to recoup some money for Wallace, who is considered as one of the brightest attacking talents in the division.

But Unwin said on Twitter: "Millwall not playing ball. They are not keen on selling to a Championship rival so things aren't progressing".

Forest fans have already spoken of their desire to land Wallace having seen how good he is following his performances in the Championship.

And Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman believes landing the 27-year-old would be a real coup for Forest.

"You’d have to say he’d be a good addition because he’s such a creative player," Goodman told olbg.com.

"He’s been really loyal to Millwall and recently he said he’s in no rush or keen to leave Millwall, he loves it there.

"You’ve got to applaud him for that, but in terms of Nottingham Forest, he would certainly make them better.

"His numbers of the last three years have been really good in terms of goals and assists.

"He delivers wicked set- pieces and at 27 years old, he’s in the prime of his life, looks physically and mentally at the top of his game.

"He would be a massive addition to Nottingham Forest if they can prise him away, because he’s gone on record that he’s very happy at Millwall."
