During a speech at the Georgia Faith & Freedom Coalition dinner in Atlanta, Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance addressed the recent incidents involving threats against political figures. Vance highlighted what he perceives as a stark contrast between conservatives and liberals, pointing out that while no one has attempted to harm Vice President Kamala Harris, there have been two reported attempts on former President Donald Trump's life.

Vance emphasized the need for both sides to tone down their rhetoric, expressing concern over the potential consequences of inflammatory language. He specifically called out individuals who have made statements suggesting harm towards Trump, citing a past remark by New York Rep. Dan Goldman.

Referring to Goldman's comment that Trump 'has to be eliminated,' Vance warned of the dangers of such rhetoric and its potential to incite violence. He urged those advocating for extreme measures against political opponents to reconsider their words, cautioning that such language could lead to real harm.

He highlighted contrast in treatment of political figures Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.

The call for toning down rhetoric comes amidst growing concerns over political polarization and escalating tensions in the United States. Vance's remarks serve as a reminder of the importance of fostering a climate of constructive debate and peaceful coexistence, even in the face of ideological differences.
