Republican vice presidential candidate JD Vance recently emphasized his focus on the future rather than dwelling on the past when questioned about the legitimacy of the 2020 election, a topic that former President Donald Trump continues to falsely claim was 'rigged.'

During a recent event in Georgia, Vance responded to a reporter's query about the 2020 election by stating, 'Bless your heart,' after the crowd reacted negatively to the question. He reiterated his commitment to concentrating on the future and addressing the challenges faced by hardworking Americans due to what he perceives as detrimental policies implemented by Vice President Kamala Harris.

Vance criticized the media for its persistent focus on the 2020 election, suggesting that the attention should be directed towards the aftermath of the election instead. He highlighted the need to move forward and address current issues rather than rehashing past events.

During a recent vice presidential debate, Democratic candidate Tim Walz challenged Vance on the topic of the January 6, 2021, insurrection and Trump's baseless claims of victory in the 2020 election. Walz pressed Vance to acknowledge the reality of Trump's defeat in the election, to which Vance responded by reiterating his focus on the future.

Walz criticized Vance's response as a 'damning nonanswer,' highlighting the ongoing debate surrounding the legitimacy of the 2020 election and the need for political figures to address the issue directly.
