Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance recently defended Donald Trump's controversial comments regarding Kamala Harris' racial identity. Vance stated that it was 'totally reasonable' for Trump to suggest that Harris 'pretends to be somebody different, depending on the audience she's talking to.'
Trump's remarks, made at the National Association of Black Journalists' convention, implied that Harris, who is of Indian and Jamaican descent, 'happened to turn Black' in recent years. Despite the backlash, Vance, who has three biracial children, expressed no concerns over Trump's statements.

Vance, during an interview while visiting the US-Mexico border in Cochise County, Arizona, defended Trump's characterization of Harris as a 'chameleon.' He emphasized that Trump's comments did not give him pause and reiterated the notion that Harris changes her persona depending on her audience.
