Two major retail units on Buchanan Street could soon be turned into one massive sports shop.
JD Sports have submitted plans to take over the former home of Gap and Paperchase on the busy shopping street. Paperchase moved from its flagship store last year as the company was on the "brink of collapse" after lockdown.
The company instead opted for a smaller store across from the Apple Store while Gap closed all of its UK and Ireland stores in a move to online only.

Plans have now been submitted to Glasgow City Council to amalgamate the two units and create a two-floor store that will feature DJ booth.
If given the go-ahead, the change will one of several major changes coming to the street following the announcement of plans to demolish the Buchanan Galleries.
The £825m plan to demolish the current Buchanan Street shopping centre would see a new urban quarter being built in its place.
Announced in January 2022, the aspiration for the city centre location is to replace the existing centre with a new mixed-use neighbourhood, blending shopping with places to work, live and play.
Plans to create the store are set to be looked over by Glasgow City Council.
