Jazza Dickens fires blunt warning message to Lerato Dlamini after world title shot confirmed

Jazza Dickens has been handed a huge world title shot after it was confirmed that he will now fight for the vacant IBO crown against Lerato Dlamini.

Dickens faces the dangerous Dlamini at the Eventim Olympia on Saturday, October 15 as part of Probellum’s second Liverpool show, which is being headlined by Peter McGrail. The fight for Dickens (31-4, 12KOs) comes on the back of April’s knockout win over former European champion Andoni Gago at the M&S Bank Arena.

However, the 31-year-old is now braced for another tough night against the South African, but he believes it is a bout he must win if he is to return top of the division.

“My route back towards the top of the division is laced with dangerous fighters, none more so than Dlamini,” Dickens said.

“But if I want to land those huge fights with Josh Warrington, Leigh Wood, and the rest of the other champions, then I have to get past him.

“There is no room for error, I must produce the best performance of my career and so the stakes are extremely high on October 15.”

Probellum Liverpool II sees McGrail headline his first show, when he takes on Nicaraguan hardman Alexander Espinoza.

Former Team GB amateur McGrail was a two-time World Amateur Championships medallist, a European champion in 2017 and a Commonwealth Games winner the following year. Since turning professional, the Everton season-ticket holder has clocked up a perfect 4-0 record, with three of those wins coming by knockout.

While the packed undercard features next gen talent features like Joe McGrail, Steven Cairns, Frankie Stringer and Will Cawley, while the seasoned Alex Dilmaghani sharpens his tools ahead of a major fight, pencilled in for later this year.
