Jazza Dickens will defend his IBO world featherweight title in Liverpool in the early part of this year.
Dickens won the vacant IBO crown at Probellum’s second Liverpool show back in October, out-pointing Lerato Dlamini after 12 intense rounds of boxing. The 31-year-old had twice fallen short in world title attempts but on an emotional night at the Eventim Olympia, he got the better of the dangerous South African.
And speaking to the ECHO ahead of his appearance on the Goodison Park pitch during Everton’s Boxing Day defeat to Wolves, Dickens revealed his next fight will be in Liverpool.

He said: “I have just got a date. I can't release it yet, I’m not allowed to. But I do know I am fighting back in Liverpool and defending the world title. If it is unification or not is yet to be known.”
Speaking following his win over Dlamini back in October, Dickens sent a blunt message to Leigh Wood - telling him he is 'conning the public' and to 'put up or shut up'.
“I think Britain has got a good level of fighters. I think you can go as far as you can,” Dickens said when asked about his weight division.
“But you always need a dancing partner. I’m lucky I have a stacked featherweight division in the UK.”
