The Boston Celtics were caught off guard by the Atlanta Hawks’ physical defense and perimeter-oriented offense in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Playoffs series, and know they need to dial up their own physicality and intensity in response.
Speaking with the media in advance of Game 4 (via CLNS Media), Boston’s Jayson Tatum related that the Celtics need to have a “constant conversation about making adjustments” given what they saw on Friday could change again. The Celtics need to keep “doing what we’re doing already, just doing it better.”

“In order for us to win, those areas we have to be really good in,” added Tatum.
Regarding the urgency among the Celtics after the Hawks won a game in the series to pull it to 2-1 in the series so far, the Duke alum shared that “we’ve got to give (Atlanta) credit, they played well last game; they made shots, they made big-time plays. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy”
“Essentially, (we had to) move on from last game, and we’ve got a good opportunity tonight to get back on track.”
