All-NBA Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum has reshaped his offensive game, taking more shots around the rim and mid-range shots. The St. Louis native has done so while still maintaining his comfort with above-the-break 3s. Tatum working out of the post and creating extra space for his teammates, and playing out of the block forces defenses to make quicker decisions, giving Tatum more time as the ball handler.
Tatum’s performance in the post highlights his ability to dominate games by slowing down the pace and using his skills effectively. The Celtics’ offense as a whole has improved, with more post possessions and higher efficiency. Adding Kristaps Porzingis has also allowed the team to solve their late-game finishing problems.
The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” recently sat down to talk about how Jayson Tatum’s growth is fueling Boston’s early success this season.
