The Boston Celtics defeated the Brooklyn Nets 121-107 in the first in-season tournament game in history, and reserve guard Payton Pritchard broke his scoring slump with a 13-point game while showing hustle and effort.
Sam Hauser made five threes and had a solid contribution.
Backup big man Luke Kornet had himself a solid game as well and dominated against the smaller lineups used by the Nets in this tilt. All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown also had a good game after struggling all week. The Celtics crashed the offensive glass and had a significant advantage in second-chance points. Boston also played some impressive defense, though the Nets still scored over 100 points.
