The first half was one nightmare after another, but second-year receiver Jayden Reed provided a glimmer of hope for the Green Bay Packers late in the first half when he caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Love with 15 seconds left in the second quarter of Sunday’s showdown with the Minnesota Vikings.
That’s the good news. The bad news? The Packers fell behind 28-0 and still trail 28-7 entering half time.
Love threw a pair of interceptions, Brayden Narveson missed a pair of field goals and Sam Darnold threw three touchdown passes during a one-sided first half at Lambeau Field.
The Packers got the scoring opportunity when Daniel Whelan’s 59-yard punt late in the first half was muffed by Jalen Nailor. Bo Melton recovered the ball at the 3-yard line.
Reed’s touchdown catch came after Matt LaFleur was assessed a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, which moved the ball from the 1/2-yard line to the 15. Love hit Reed one play later.

Reed now has a touchdown in two of his first four games in 2024. He ended the first half with three catches for a team-high 47 yards and the score.
The Packers get the ball to open the second half. Can Love lead Green Bay on another scoring drive and make this a game to start the third quarter?
