The second NFL Network 2024 mock draft from expert Daniel Jeremiah puts four of the upcoming class of quarterbacks in the top 10, including Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy.
Jeremiah understandably has USC’s Caleb Williams going first overall to the Chicago Bears, while North Carolina’s Drake Maye goes second to the Washington Commanders.
He then sends LSU’s Jayden Daniels to the New York Giants at pick No. 6 before picking Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy for the Atlanta Falcons at No. 8.
Of those picks, Daniels lasting to New York is fascinating, but Jeremiah adds that he doesn’t project trades in this format.
“As noted above, I don’t make trade projections in mock drafts this early in the process, which is why Daniels is still available at No. 6,” he wrote about the pick. “I wouldn’t rule out the Giants trying to move up for a quarterback, but in this scenario, Daniels falls into their lap.”
Quarterbacks like Oregon’s Bo Nix and Washington’s Michael Penix Jr. would be available in the second round if Jeremiah’s predictions come true with this latest mock draft.
Cincinnati Bengals fans would love for the draft board to fall this way, as Jeremiah has elite Georgia tight end Brock Bowers going to Cincy at pick No. 17.
Also interesting in Jeremiah’s mock would be formidable UCLA edge rusher Laiatu Latu going to the Miami Dolphins at pick No. 21 and speedy Oregon wide receiver Troy Franklin going to the Kansas City Chiefs at pick No. 32.
