If you’re surprised that the Carolina Panthers opened up as betting favorites over the Dallas Cowboys this week, then you’re not alone. In fact, you’d be joined by one of the favorites themselves.
Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn spoke with reporters from his locker after Thursday’s practice. He expressed a bit of disbelief at Las Vegas’ confidence in his team—something that hasn’t really been common around these parts of late.
“Yeah, I’m surprised they had us because it seems like everybody hates the Panthers. So I’m surprised,” he said with a laugh. “I’m surprised they have us picked to win. But at the end of the day, that type of stuff don’t matter.”

Carolina will not be the underdogs for the first time since Week 15 of the 2022 season. That game, against the visiting Pittsburgh Steelers, ended in a 24-16 loss.
As of this writing, Bet MGM has the 3-10 Panthers as three-point favorites for Sunday’s matchup with the 5-8 Dallas Cowboys.
