Jay-Z Pens Explosive Response To Civil Lawsuit Accusing Him Of Raping A 13 Y.O. Girl

CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses alleged child sexual abuse.

Rapper and entrepreneur Shawn Carter, famously known as Jay-Z, has shared an explosive response to a civil lawsuit filed against him, which accuses him of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 along with Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs.

On Sunday (local time) a civil lawsuit was filed against the 55-year-old rapper, alleging the artist had raped a 13-year-old girl in 2000 with Combs.

Per Variety, the lawsuit originally only listed Combs as the defendant when it was filed in October, but it has since been refiled to name Carter as well. The allegations, which come from an anonymous “Jane Doe”, claim both artists had raped her after they took her to an MTV Music Video Awards afterparty.

In response to the severe allegations, Carter took to his business accounts for Roc Nation to claim that his lawyer “received a blackmail attempt” from Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee. Buzbee has filed several lawsuits which accuse Combs of rape and assault.

“What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” the rapper penned.

“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!!”

Further in the statement, Carter described the allegation as “heinous” and urged the lawyer to make a “criminal complaint, not a civil one”.

“Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?” Carter continued.

“These alleged victims would deserve real justice if that were the case.

“This lawyer, who I have done a bit of research on, seems to have a pattern of these types of theatrics!”

Carter continued to slam Buzbee, labelling him a “deplorable human”, before reflecting on how the allegations would impact his family and his wife, Beyoncé Knowles.

“My only heartbreak is for my family. My wife and I will have to sit our children down, one of whom is at the age where her friends will surely see the press and ask questions about the nature of these claims, and explain the cruelty and greed of people,” Carter added.

“My heart and support goes out to true victims in the world, who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit,” Carter continued.

“You have made a terrible error in judgement thinking that all ‘celebrities’ are the same. I’m not from your world. I’m a young man who made it out of the project of Brooklyn. We don’t play these types of games. We have very strict codes and honour. We protect children, you seem to exploit people for personal gain. Only your network of conspiracy theorists, fake physics, will believe the idiotic claims you have levied against me that, if not for the seriousness surrounding harm to kids, would be laughable.”

At the time of writing, Combs — the 54-year-old artist named alongside Carter in the civil lawsuit — is awaiting trial on charges of including racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

He is currently behind bars and has denied all allegations against him. Ahead of his trial, Combs’ legal team filed a request for a gag order to be placed on information surrounding his sex trafficking and racketeering charges. However, the request was rejected by Arun Subramanian.

The rapper’s trial is set to begin on May 5, 2025.

The Jane Doe of this recent civil lawsuit, which names Carter, is seeking unspecified damages and has been filed under New York’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, NBC News reports.
