'Jaw-dropping' Prince Andrew photo could cause 'serious embarrassment' to Royal Family

Viewers of ITV show Lorraine were told there's a "jaw-dropping" photo of Prince Andrew in existence that could cause "serious embarrassment to the Royal Family. Russell Myers, Royal Editor of the Daily Mirror, shared details with Lorraine Kelly on Monday, July 18.

He said the photograph is said to be from the now infamous Newsnight special interview in 2019, when Emily Maitlis interviewed Prince Andrew about allegations made against him and his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffery Epstein.

Myers said: "A chap called Mark Harrison was present (at the interview). He was a BBC photographer who was in the room. He has said that he took a photograph during that event that would cause serious embarrassment to the monarchy. Some other sources are saying that this photograph is jaw-dropping. That's about as much as we know at the moment."

Lorraine, who returned to the show after a week off with Covid, replied "What could it be?" Myers continued "We have spoken to Prince Andrew's people and they have said officially 'no comment'. Other people I have spoken to have said there is an awful lot of nervousness about what this could be. So, perhaps watch this space. We will all be talking about it, it's been two or three years since this interview aired."

Lorraine and Myers then went on to discuss what the picture may be. Lorraine said: "It's weird, what could he have done? Maybe he took his jacket off and he was all sweaty or something. I don't know, nobody knows," she added referring to Prince Andrew's now infamous quote during the interview about him not being able to sweat.

Myers was also on the programme to speak about the Queen leading a list of the most influential women and a new book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsor's by biographer Tom Bower.
