Javi Gracia told Leeds United fate will be decided 'week-by-week' after 'incredible' Wolves win

Leeds United have been told that their Premier League survival chances will be decided on a 'week-by-week' basis due to the close nature of the bottom nine sides.

12th-placed Crystal Palace and bottom-of-the-league Southampton are separated by only four points and the Whites are right in the thick of it amongst them all.

Of all those involved in the relegation battle, Leeds are the only ones to have won two games in their last four matches which has seen them jump up from 19th to 14th in one weekend, but their weekend win over Wolves will have been the sweetest yet.

"Javi Gracia has got to be delighted," Robbie Earle said on The Two Robbies podcast. "I know they conceded two goals but four goals away from home in a big game like that, that's what gets you out of trouble."

"Yeah, it does, and Rodrigo, Rob," his co-host Robbie Mustoe replied. "What about Rodrigo? 11 goals now, top goalscorer by quite a distance and he took his goal lovely by the way, lovely little chip.

"He's a really important player, obviously Patrick Bamford started the game, but he's looking to get back to fully fit and healthy and he's scoring goals.

"I think Gracia is smart enough to keep on top of the defensive side of things, but that is a huge win for them. An absolutely huge win after a change of manager, some were starting to think he wasn't doing too much.

"They were joint-bottom and they now jump up to 14th, it's an incredible win and that's how it's going to be."

"Yeah, it's going to be week-to-week isn't it?" Earle claimed. "There's no point in saying who you think is going to go down because it could be any of the nine as it goes week-by-week."

"And they're starting to get their players back attacking as well," Mustoe pointed out. "He's got Willy Gnonto, [Georginio] Rutter, [Patrick] Bamford, [Crysencio] Summerville, he's got [Jack] Harrison.

"We know that there's goals in Leeds, there's always been goals in that line-up, it's just whether they can get them and whether their defence can hold on enough and protect that goal a bit more. But that's a massive one for them."
