Eight days off in a 30-day month dominated by seven matches is an opportunity Leeds United could not turn down for vital rest and recuperation. The extended wait between the Elland Road clashes with Crystal Palace and Liverpool was the one respite Javi Gracia could give his players in April.
The month began with three matches in eight days across Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Palace. Including Liverpool next Monday, there will be four matches across the following 13 days for the Whites.
In a season which has been plagued by injuries, the head coach had to take the window given to him by the Premier League. Some may even argue a small break for the players was even better timed in coming after a humiliating collapse like Sunday’s, giving them the chance to escape a negative headspace.

“After the last days, when we've had many games, in this moment, the team, the players need to rest a little bit and try to recover because they worked hard, really hard the last days,” Gracia said on Sunday. “Now, we have time until [the] next game, we have time to recover, to rest and to train hard.”
While Diogo Monteiro shared pictures of his trip to London, Luis Sinisterra and Junior Firpo were seen further afield. The pair appeared on Amazon’s footage of Novak Djokovic’s Tuesday win at the Monte Carlo Masters.
